LGBTQI+ REFUGEES ON A CRUSADE FOR EQUALITY IN KENYA

1 x 12

BBC WORLD

In 2019, Robert worked independently to obtain a commission from BBC World to follow this extremely vulnerable refugee LGBTQI+ community – the majority fleeing persecution from Uganda, Sudan and Somalia, where antigay laws include life imprisonment and the death penalty. The film captures their plight for their rights and Kenya’s landmark court case to legalise homosexuality in Kenya.

The film was broadcast across BBC World, BBC Africa & BBC Scotland.
